- With a 6ft leash on the dog, bring your other arm down with your palm facing facing towards the dog. Give a slight tug and say “Come”, as the dog comes running enthusiastically verbally reward them. With the dog arrives, place in a “Sit Command” and reward with a treat and verbally.
-Then build up:
- With your dog on a long leash or in an enclosed area.
-Crouch down, open your arms, and enthusiastically call your dog's name followed by the command "come."
- When your dog responds and starts moving towards you, encourage them with excitement and praise.
- When your dog reaches you, reward them with treats, verbal praise, and affection.
- Practice this command in different environments and gradually increase the distance between you and your dog. (Always on a leash when your not on Campus Grounds)
